"The next day as planned, Mr Iloa came aboard 'Bounty'. He agreed to commit his tale in writing in both English and Tongan. Patiently he wrote the details of the Bly-Princess ['Ana Manu 'A'la Kivai Lahi] liaison and sketched out the entire family tree from 1789 to 1989. When Mr Iloa family held a world reunion in Salt Lake City, Utah, 1994, the entire 1000-strong family confirmed the accuracy of the family tree except for one or two minor corrections. All correspondence between Setaleki Iloa and myself as well as photographs and other relevant papers are included below. These words are loaded with life and authenticity. -Wm. H. McGrath, Commander (Ret) U.S. Navy, 1995"--Introduction.
