Summary: "The Family Planning programmes in Tonga have made a steady progress over the years having overcome many deep-seated cultural beliefs that for a long have affected the attitudes of the people towards family planning. This manual was developed as a result of a study conducted by the South Pacific Alliance for Family Health (SPAFH) in 1991. Although the study did not cover station to station but it indicated the need for development of guidelines to be used by the family planning providers. The objectives of this manual is to provide guidelines on Family Planning methods available and are commonly used in the Kingdom of Tonga. It also provide an overview of sexually transmitted diseases, infertility and their management"--Preface.
